P-ACT Test Updates

October 16, 2022 | by information

Tuesday, October 18th 9th-11th grade students will be administered the P-ACT test. Below are important notes for students taking the test:

  • There are no changes to school-provided transportation.
  • The student entrance will open at 7:15 a.m. Breakfast will be served until 7:38 a.m.
  • Testing will begin at 8:15 a.m. Students will not be admitted to school after the start of the testing.
  • Students must bring their school-issued laptop, fully charged as it will be used to complete the test. Additional laptops will not be available.
  • Students are also allowed to bring snacks to consume during scheduled breaks.
  • Testing will end at approximately 12:15 p.m. Students will be dismissed immediately after and provided a bag lunch as they depart.
  • There will be no after-school clubs; student-athletes should follow instructions from coaches regarding after-school practices.

The PreACT simulates the ACT testing experience within a shorter test window on all four ACT test subjects: English, math, reading, and science. (act.org) Our school’s mission is to prepare every student for college acceptance. We know that an impressive ACT score can save our students and their families thousands of dollars as the student will become eligible for scholarships, grants, and other opportunities that are often untapped. Please discuss with your student the importance of this free practice test. Emphasize how taking this practice test seriously will help them and the school measure their knowledge of content to become better students. I know that our students are more than capable of excelling beyond the district and state averages and am determined to provide opportunities like this for every student to demonstrate it.
