We understand that the climate is changing with the season. Please be reminded that Sci High-approved outerwear is still required. Additionally, jackets with hoods are never allowed on campus. This is a matter of safety and support of a learning environment of respect. I have observed, in my time as Head of School, that students will cover their heads with hoods that are on their jackets, making it difficult for faculty and staff to quickly identify individuals on campus. As a result, our school provides options without hoods that are school appropriate and comfortable for students to wear. We have partnered with two uniform providers in the city that are dedicated to making these items available. Students are always expected to be in full uniform as a part of their preparation for post-secondary pursuits and participation in our school community. Below is a link to the uniform providers and an excerpt of the uniform policy that was shared at orientation. We ask that families utilize this week and the impending Fall Break to become compliant with this policy. This does not excuse students in the meantime. If students arrive at school with hooded jackets, they will be reprimanded for violating the school's policy and the jacket will be collected by the student services team. Sci High will continue to reward the students who are compliant with this policy and stand unwavering in our approach to fulfill the school's mission.
