Biography

  • My name is Mr. Oatis and I am the Dean of Students at Sci High. This is my 9th year at Sci High and my third year as Dean of Students. Prior to serving as Dean of Students, I had the honor of serving as a classroom teacher and Behavior Interventionist. I enjoy my role at Sci High because I believe that I am in a position to make a difference in my community. I am a Sci High alum so this place is special to me. I attended Xavier University of Louisiana.

Favorites

  • My favorite food is red beans and rice.
  • My favorite book is Up From Slavery by Booker T. Washington.
  • My favorite subject is Social Studies.
  • My hobbies are gardening, cooking, and upcycling/repurposing.
  • My favorite sport is football.
  • My favorite team is the Saints.
