Saturday, August 27th, Mary Keller Zervigon, our longtime friend and Sci High Board member, passed away following an illness. Mary was Sci High's longest-tenured Board member. In 2006, when Sci High first became a full-day public charter high school, Mary was chosen as its Board Chair. Mary was a staunch advocate for the children of New Orleans and a great supporter of Sci High. Due to the relentless lobbying efforts of her and former Board member, Madalyn Schenk, Sci High is able to call this current state-of-the-art STEM building, our home. On a personal note, I will miss Mary's counsel more than anything, but her wit was unmatched. It was my honor to have known her. As we approach this school year let us be reminded of Mary Keller Zervigon's beliefs for the young people we serve and her dedication to Sci High, the Greater New Orleans area, and beyond.
