Happy Friday, Sci HIgh Families!

I hope this message finds you doing well. Yesterday evening, many of you participated in our very first “Virtual Back to School Night” and were able to meet your students’ teachers, get your questions answered, and hopefully, were able to better understand your students’ virtual classroom experience. As I’ve mentioned before, we’re all working through this together, but together, we’ll be successful! Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

2019 - 2020 P-Ebt Benefits

Louisiana is reopening the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program for families who did not apply in May and June. All Sci High students are eligible because we are aCommunity Eligibility Provision (CEP) school.

This new application window is only for eligible families who did not apply in May and June. To receive these benefits, families must complete an application. The application portal (http://www.dcfs.louisiana.gov/page/pebt-program#faq) will be open from September 8th at 8 a.m. to September 29th at 5 p.m. A link to P-EBT information and the application portal is available on the Department’s COVID-19 webpage.

Mandatory Vaccines

Many of our students are behind in their mandatory vaccines. All students are required by the State to provide proof of the required vaccinations or immunity. If your student is not up to date with their vaccines, please schedule an appointment with the Student Based Health Clinic, ASAP, by calling 504-613-5648. The clinic is also available for virtual visits for both medical and behavioral health, and for students needing physical exams or lab work.
