Good Evening Sci High Families,
This is a reminder that starting tomorrow, Monday, August 23, students will attend virtual classes for 2-weeks due to operational challenges related to COVID-19 absences. We anticipate students to return on Tuesday, September 7th. We recognize that our students learn best in-person however at this time we need to ensure meaningful learning continues this school year.
Please see important information for the upcoming switch to virtual classes and other announcements below:
Students will continue to follow the current bell schedule with Homeroom
Students in need of internet access at home are eligible to receive a hotspot from our school. Students should notify their homeroom teachers to coordinate pickup from the school.
Sci High will offer curbside meals for students. Curbside breakfast/lunch pickup will start on Monday, August 23, 2021. Pick-up days will be on Monday (covers Monday and Tuesday) and Wednesday (covers Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) from 11 am to 1 pm in front of the school. As of now, this service will continue through Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Children's Programming at Longue Vue
Longue Vue has 3 major programs for kids this Fall, spanning in age range from 0 to 16. Check out the descriptions below and see flyers attached.
This Fall, we will spend the semester planning, planting, and maintaining a garden bed in the Discovery Garden! Camp Counselor Teyonna Lofton will be back at Longue Vue working alongside me to teach children ages 5-10 how to grow their own food from seed. Vue Crew is a semester-long program that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm from September 7th to November 24th.
For those of y’all who work with younger children, check out our Early Childhood Enrichment program—Sprouts! Sprouts is meant to encourage creativity, free play, and tactile experiences for children ages 5 and under. This Fall, it will take place on Saturday Mornings on the first and third week of the month.
If your students are a bit older, please check out Junior Historians! This program for teens ages 11-16 offers a chance to work alongside the Longue Vue curatorial team as they research Stern family history, preserve our decorative arts collection, and prepare exhibits. This program will run on Saturday Mornings from 10:00am-12:30pm from September 11th to October 2nd.
