Sci High Students and Families,

This week comes with much excitement for our community as we prepare to celebrate Homecoming Spirit Week! After two years of virtual spirit activities, our students will be able to participate in a full week of activities that bring our community closer. This includes themed daily dress-down, volleyball games, a pep rally, Fall Festival, and the homecoming sneaker jam! A full list of reminders is included in the next section.

ACADEMICS

Progress reports were distributed during homeroom Friday, October 22, 2021. If a student was absent during homeroom on Friday, they can pick up their progress report in homeroom, Monday, October 25, 2021.

After School Activities

Transportation for students participating in after-school activities will be available Wednesday & Thursday this week and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the following week.

Spirit Week Activities

"Clash of the Classes" Competition

Points will be awarded for participation in daily theme dress as well as competitions on Friday during Fall Fest. Students should follow the dress-down day themes to participate. Students who are not dressed in theme must be in uniform. Themed days can be found on the homepage of the school’s website, social media, and in google classroom.

Monday: Decade Day

Students may dress in the theme of any decade that they choose.

Tuesday: Sports Day

Students may dress in team jerseys, team wear, team colors, or as a referee.

Wednesday: Squad/Twin Day

Students may dress in the same outfit as a friend or your group.

Thursday: Character Day

Students may dress as any character that is school-appropriate.

Friday: Grade Level Spirit Day

Students and homeroom teachers should wear their grade level "Just can't hide my Sci High pride" shirts.

FALL FESTIVAL

Friday, October 29th will be Fall Festival. The event will include inflatables, games, and food. All games will be free, but students may bring money for food and drinks. This event will happen during the school day and will end at 3:05 pm with a pep rally for the homecoming game at 4:30 against International High School. Admission to the game for students with a school ID is $2, $3 for children under 12, and $6 for adults. Concessions will be sold.

HOMECOMING SNEAKER JAM

Saturday, October 30th will be the Homecoming Sneaker Jam, “A Night Under the Stars”, in the school gym (The Chamber) from 8:00 pm-11:00 pm. Only 200 tickets will be sold and cost $15 each. Tickets will be sold during both lunches up to Thursday, October 28th, or until they are sold out. Attire for this event is semi-formal. Students must wear MUST WEAR sneakers to attend the event. Students who wish to bring additional shoes for photo purposes may do so. Students are allowed to bring outside guests. Guests are required to present a current, valid school ID upon arrival at the dance.

COVID-19 Requirement

ALL ATTENDEES must present proof of COVID vaccination or a negative PCR test completed within 72 hours for entry to the homecoming game and sneaker jam. No one will be allowed to enter without the appropriate documentation.
