Families can log in and subscribe to PowerSchool to view information on grades and attendance, and behavioral information in Kickboard. Login credentials are distributed during orientation and can also be obtained by requesting them in person (for PowerSchool) or through the student’s homeroom teacher (for Kickboard). Appointments

If you're interested in scheduling an appointment to speak to the Ms. Lucien the School Social Worker, please select a date, day, and time, and the Social Worker will respond confirming the appointment with a google calendar invite. If the appointment not available the Social Worker will ask you to make another selection. Appointments are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday's between the hours of 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

Mandated Reporting

All teaching or child care providers (anyone who provides or assists in the teaching, training, and supervision of a child), as well as organizational or youth activity providers (amongst many other mandatory reporters) must report to the proper authorities instances in which they have reason to believe that a child's physical or mental health or welfare is endangered as a result of abuse or neglect, or that abuse or neglect was a contributing factor in a child's death.

Parents or guardians should contact the New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School if they wish to get information or have an issue related to the following: 

• Disagreement with a teacher or staff member at the school
• Student records, except if the school is no longer open
• Discipline decisions, except if it could involve expulsion or special education
• Issues with another student at the school
• Student has been expelled or there are other serious discipline issues
• Student isn’t receiving needed special education services
• Student is in danger and the school has not responded    
• Any other serious legal, safety, or special education issues that the school has not addressed

If Sci High – through its Title I Programming – is not providing services in accordance with state and federal regulations, a parent may file a complaint in accordance with the Louisiana Handbook for School Administrators (page 12), which is available online at: http://www.doa.louisiana.gov/osr/lac/28v115/28v115.doc. Parents may also request a copy of this bulletin by calling the LDOE's toll free number at 1-877- 453-2721. 

New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School provide technology equipment and internet access to support the educational mission of the school and to enhance the curriculum and learning opportunities for students and staff. General rules and expectations for professional behavior and communication apply but are not limited to the use of schools’ technology and services, such as computers, networks, internet services, telephones, fax machines, printers, copy machines and projection devices. Employees and authorized volunteers are expected to use such school equipment for school-related purposes and performance of job duties.

Federal law requires all schools to inspect their buildings for asbestos-containing materials and to develop Asbestos Management Plans for those materials found. Our school has completed this Asbestos Management Plan. More

According to the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), parents and eligible students have the right to: 1. Inspect and review the student’s education records; 2. Seek amendment of the student’s education records that are believed to be inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of the student’s privacy rights; 3. Consent to the disclosures of personally identifiable information, except to the extent that FERPA and the School Board authorize disclosure without consent; and File with the United States Department of Education.
