Happy Sunday Sci High Families!

February is Black History Month, celebrating Black Americans and the important contributions they have played in U.S. History. At Sci High, from our math classes to our history classes, our students will have the opportunity to learn and honor these important figures all throughout the month. We acknowledge that U.S. History is incomplete without Black History.
Also happening this month at Sci High:
Interim Assessments - We are closely monitoring the academic performance of our students. As such, students who are currently enrolled in Algebra I, English I, English II, and Geometry will be taking interim assessments online during their regularly scheduled class periods. Please encourage your student to do their best so that we can get an accurate picture of how our students are performing academically.
Other reminders:
Returning to in-person learning - We are planning for our students to report to campus, using the hybrid schedule, on Monday, February 22nd! All students were assigned to either Group A or Group B. Rosters for each group will be reviewed and communicated to students and families in the next several days. Information regarding hybrid schedules, transportation, and uniforms will be included in a separate email message.
Student-Based Health Center - Please remember that we have a Student Clinic on our campus. The clinic provides a variety of services, including those that are available at most pediatrician offices. The clinic also provides COVID-19 testing for students. The staff includes a school nurse, a nurse practitioner, a psychiatrist, and a clinical social worker. Please call the clinic for more information or to schedule an appointment at 504-613-5648.
Let us continue to do our part to help rid our community of COVID-19. Avoid large crowds, wash your hands regularly, and wear a mask.
