Hello and welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the new families joining us, and a big welcome back to returning students. My name is Eboni Brown and I will be providing Speech and Language services this school year at New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School.

I am excited to begin a new school year and hope that your family is excited too. This is my 8th year at Sci High and I am looking forward to new possible missions that are coming our way.

Speech therapy techniques are used to improve communication. These include articulation therapy, language services, and others depending on the type of speech or language disorder.

Speech Therapy can be seen in many settings, from the classroom to work on receptive and expressive language, at lunch to carryover conversational skills or pull out from electives where a variety of activities and strategies will be used to encourage your child to communicate at their highest level so they will be equipped with the necessary tools to communicate.

It is important to me that the work continues. Students are not defined by labels but more importantly the strategies used by SLPs and classroom teachers use methods to develop the whole child. I believe that every student should be given an opportunity to use their voice and become self-advocates. Each student should be challenged to a point where he/she could advance their academic and social interactions with peers and adults to increase their ability to communicate with others.

To make a positive footprint in the field of Speech Language Pathology, I educate families about the importance of speech and language services. Empowering parents with the necessary tools to support their child will make monumental impacts in our communities.
