Chamber Chat - 1/24

January 24, 2021

The events of the last week were momentous in so many ways: the inauguration of the 46th President of the United States, the inauguration of the first woman, first African-American/Asian- American Vice President of the United States, and the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history, whose words, "And yet the dawn is ours before we knew it. Somehow, we do it" -- inspires me and gives me hope that things are getting better. I sincerely hope it brings you a sense of optimism, as well.

Here are a few announcements:
Our New Location - Please remember that we have relocated to our new campus at 2011 Bienville St. We are no longer conducting business at the Loyola Ave. location.

Virtual Classes continue - We are continuing to conduct homeroom and classes via Distance Learning until further notice from the school district.

Meals - Curbside meal service will occur on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning tomorrow, January 25th, from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.

Family Council - Our family council will meet virtually, January 27, 2021 at 5:00 pm via Zoom. Please see the event details and a survey to express your interest to join the council as a committee lead at this link.

Mardi Gras Break - Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, New Orleans Mayor L. Cantrell has canceled Mardi Gras for the 2021 season. Therefore, the upcoming break that was scheduled for that time will ONLY include Monday, February 16 thru Wednesday, February 18th. Please amend your calendars to reflect this change.

Spring Break - In order to recover instructional minutes that were lost due to multiple weather events this Fall, our Spring Break has been changed as follows: Friday, April 2nd thru Tuesday, April 6th. Please amend your calendars to reflect this change as well.

That’s all for now! Please be safe, avoid large gatherings, wash your hands, and wear a mask! It takes "a village" to bring our students back to school in person.
