by information

Good Evening Sci High Families,

Our administrators and I continue to closely monitor the developments related to the COVID-19 virus, the Omicron variant, and its impact on our community. We are committed to taking all the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to protect the well-being of our students, teachers, and staff. Sci High will continue to follow guidance from NOLA Public Schools in regards to wearing masks, sanitizing before entry into the building, assigning seats in classrooms, thoroughly disinfecting the building, in addition to making testing and vaccinations available to all staff and students.

However, due to the continued increase in local cases and to provide students a period to become vaccinated in accordance with NOLA-PS vaccination requirement, starting Tuesday, January 18, 2022, Sci High students will continue to attend classes virtually.

Communication regarding the possible return will be shared on or before Friday, January 21, 2022.

Bell Schedule

Students will continue to follow the current bell schedule. Homeroom will begin at 7:40 am. It is important that students log on for every period.

Technology

Students in need of internet access at home are eligible to receive a hotspot from our school. Students should notify their homeroom teachers to coordinate pickup from the school.

Meals

Sci High will offer curbside meals for students. This service will take place next week Tuesday through Friday from 11 am to 1 pm.

Extracurricular Activities

During this period, student-athletes may participate in LHSAA scheduled competitions only if they are vaccinated. No spectators will be allowed to attend scheduled events at Sci High during this period. Students participating in other extracurricular activities should check directly with their sponsors/coaches.

Vaccines & COVID-19 Testing

Sci High's School-Based Health Center will continue to provide vaccines and testing for students and families during this time. Families should contact the clinic at (504) 613-5648 to schedule a vaccination. This is open to all students and family members. To register for the school's weekly testing program students must register online.

Sci High is committed to the health and safety of our students and staff. We appreciate your cooperation during this time.

Remember masks and vaccinations -- they work!

Dr. Cola
